Posting Context Statement
The TRIO Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) of Ada and Canyon County is a federally funded TRIO program whose mission is to assist and enroll adults in college and career training programs. The Administrative Specialist performs office and project support activities for the program. Primary functions for this position include: responding to phone calls, emails, and in-person inquires for EOC services; scheduling participant appointments with EOC advisors; helping maintain accurate participant records; and providing general administrative support to the program director and outreach advisors. This position is based out of the program's main office in downtown Boise, at the University of Idaho Boise Center.
Position Overview
Assist with administrative tasks including preparing correspondence, maintaining records, maintaining calendars, monitoring office inventory, ordering supplies when necessary and completing various assignments as needed. This position may be the first point of contact for the department, and is tasked with ensuring that information flows accurately, efficiently and effectively while maintaining appropriate confidentiality.
Duties may include:Manage records and documentsPerform general administrative support tasks such as proofreading and receiving and distributing mail; may handle cashGreet visitors, callers and/or email inquiries, determining nature and purpose and directing them to specific destinations/individuals/informationOther duties as assignedUnit URL

Required Experience
Organizing tasks to meet deadlinesParticipating in teams to accomplish shared goalsUsing computer software and applications for word processing, email, and internet searchesRequired Education
High School Diploma or equivalentRequired Other
Ability to work nonstandard hours occasionally, including evenings and weekends, when necessaryAbility to travel occasionallyAdditional Preferred
Good knowledge of office support functions, such as reception, office support software, filing, and/or composing a variety of business documents;Working with electronic filing systems and/or databases for information storage, data retrieval, analysis, and reportingWorking with individuals from varying backgroundsUsing office software, including working proficiency in cloud-based platforms, Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe AcrobatManage and coordinate multiple schedulesPhysical Requirements & Working Conditions
