tip sheet .Interior DesignerThe University of Miami/UHealth Department of Facilities has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Interior Designer to work at UHealth. The Interior Designer manages the day-to-day production on the assigned project(s) to meet deadlines and project deliverables accurately and in a timely fashion.Oversee the furniture procurement process from its initial stages through completion.Manage and coordinate projects related to small construction renovations and finish upgrades.Manage and coordinate projects related to space planning allocations and departmental moves.Assist with organization of departmental paperwork, specifically relating to furniture procurement.Assist with Interior Design selections, within the parameters of the University standards.Assist with management of the department’s Interior Design library relating to the records of the University standards.Coordinates the preparation of documents with vendors, consultants, contractors, and team members.Visits project site for inspections and troubleshoots production issues.Reviews shop drawings, project submittals, and related documents for compliance, and documents code review.Serves as liaison between vendors, subcontractors, fabrication management, presentations, furniture plans, and the fabrication studio.Ensures all projects conform to contract requirements and University standards.Creates and communicates clear and attainable project objectives and project requirements.Works in tandem with the Space Planning department when project(s) require it.Core Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in relevant fieldCertification in relevant specialty or fieldMinimum 5 years of relevant experienceKnowledge, Skills and Attitudes:Knowledge of business and management principles.Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.Commitment to the University's core values.Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.The University of Miami offers competitive salaries and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, tuition remission and more.The University of Miami is an Equal Opportunity Employer - Females/Minorities/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities are encouraged to apply.
