Akkodis is seeking an application support specialist position with a client located in Dallas, Texas. The application support specialist is the first point of contact for customer technology requests via phone or email, the Application Support Specialist is responsible for promptly responding to customer inquiries, resolving technical issues, and documenting all steps for resolution in the incident management system. Additionally, the specialist will manage the flow of incoming requests and ensure that issues are addressed in a timely and efficient manner,

Salary Range: 65k to 75k

Application Support Specialist job responsibilities include:

  • Providing 1st and 2nd level support for applications and desktop.
  • Delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment, maintaining a positive attitude under pressure.
  • Logging and documenting service calls in the ticketing system with thorough details.
  • Utilizing advanced Microsoft Office skills, with certifications in Word and Outlook preferred. Familiarity with Microsoft 365 is preferred.
  • Participating in all stages of the application lifecycle, including installation, testing, deployment, support, and upgrades.
  • Maintaining a deep understanding of customer, departmental, and practice group needs and concerns.
  • Serving as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for specific assigned applications, providing expertise from both the end-user and troubleshooting perspectives.
  • Creating and updating Knowledge Base articles to assist with end-user support.
  • Monitoring support issues related to assigned applications and providing timely resolution.
  • Collaborating with project teams during application upgrades and ensuring open communication between the Technology Resource Center , IT Department, and the user community.
  • Troubleshooting application issues and acting as a liaison between customers, application owners, and vendors when needed.

Qualifications:

  • Critical Thinking & Problem Solving: Ability to resolve issues quickly in a fast-paced environment by asking the right questions, actively listening, and focusing on customer concerns.
  • Relationship Building: Capability to build strong relationships with end-users and staff, fostering a collaborative support culture.
  • Technical Expertise: Commitment to continuous improvement of technical skills, particularly mastery of the firm’s applications and other technologies.
  • Self-Direction: Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and follow through on assignments beyond answering service calls.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in MIS, computer science, business administration, or equivalent experience in complex information systems management.
  • Communication Skills: Proficient in following instructions and conveying information with courtesy and tact via email, telephone, or in person. Skilled in documenting and communicating complex technical processes and instructions clearly.
