Compensation: To $185KJob Overview – Director of FP&A – 33315The Director of FP&A plays a critical role in shaping the financial strategy and performance of the company by leading a key vertical within financial management. This position oversees financial forecasting, key performance indicators (KPIs), budgeting processes, operating plans, and project costing. Responsibilities also include creating detailed price costing and pricing models to support competitive proposals, conducting cost analyses, and implementing cost controls.
Acting as a financial consultant and strategic advisor to senior management, the Director of FP&A provides insights through financial presentations, capital expenditure analyses, industry and peer benchmarking, and assessments of new business opportunities. This role serves as the analytical and economic backbone of the company, guiding data-driven decision-making.
Reporting to the CFO, the Director of FP&A collaborates closely with the commercial team to support growth and profitabilityResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement costing and pricing models tailored to various product lines and key customers.
Create and refine tools for monitoring and reporting on profitability, cost trends, annual price adjustments, and provide actionable recommendations for improvements.
Prepare and report on key KPIs and cost drivers, facilitating performance dialogues and real-time cost control support to help General Managers (GMs) and Business Unit Managers (BUMs) achieve their monthly and quarterly targets.
Collaborate closely with Financial Controllers and Operations Directors to align on metrics, goals, and business reviews.
Analyze trends and variances in key performance indicators, covering revenue, cost of sales, expenses, and capital expenditures to identify and address unexpected shifts.
Conduct ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed.
Build financial models and analyses that support sales opportunities and strategic projects.
Review new proposals and contracts, assessing risks including unusual costs, necessary investments, and legal considerations.
Implement and optimize Business Intelligence tools, Salesforce, and dashboard reporting for enhanced data insights.
Drive process improvements by evaluating and streamlining workflows for greater efficiency.
Lead and ensure compliance in business finance processes, standards, and systems.
Manage a team of 5-10 professionals across multiple locations.
RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business.
3+ years of experience in similar or progressively responsible roles, with a background in manufacturing preferred.
Solid understanding of accounting, financial, and operational principles.
Experience working within a major company or a division of a large organization.
Hands-on approach, comfortable managing both day-to-day activities and strategic responsibilities.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at various management levels.
Proven track record of success, with sound professional judgment.
High energy and enthusiasm for working in a growth-oriented environment.
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
