About the Role
The public school district is in search of a dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to spearhead its financial management initiatives. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work alongside the District Superintendent and the School Board, providing strategic vision and ensuring adherence to financial management laws and principles. As the CFO, you will oversee all financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, grants management, and risk control, while introducing best practices and managing banking relationships.
In addition to financial oversight, you will play an essential role in program direction, staff supervision, and operations management, which includes building services and nutrition programs. To be considered for this position, candidates must possess a master's degree in finance, accounting, or business administration, and a CSBO endorsement is required. A CPA certification is preferred. The ideal candidate will bring 8-12 years of extensive experience in financial forecasting, fund accounting, and leading multi-department teams.
Key qualifications include a proven track record in education finance, strong strategic oversight, and exceptional communication skills. As the CFO, you will also engage in collective bargaining with multiple union representatives, so relevant experience in this area is crucial. We seek a strategic thinker who excels at problem-solving and is committed to working with a diverse workforce and community.
