Duties and Responsibilities * Works in the REDCapdatabase system to capture, organize, and analyze data pertaining to the IDeA Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE) grant program that originates from the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGIMS) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). *

Assists INBRE Administrative and Evaluation activities assuring the goals and specific aims of the program are met. This includes providing REDCap database support in database development, data entry and analysis for Evaluation, Program Cores and administrative activities. * Designs and writes tracking algorithms for integrating data from on-line application forms that is continually updated in real-time with important demographic information. * Designs and writes custom application programming interface (API) programs. * Website design, construction, and maintenance for HI-INBRE. Other duties as assigned. (* Denotes Essential Job Duties)

Minimum Qualifications Possession of a baccalaureate educational degree in Computer Science and 2 year(s) of progressively responsible professional information technology experience with responsibilities for data entry/analyses; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated. Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities Functional knowledge of database design and management demonstrated by knowledge, understanding and ability to apply principles, concepts, methodology and terminology. Functional knowledge and understanding of technology, systems, hardware and software associated with Data handling. Demonstrated ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve routine problems in the area of data processing. Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation, write reports and procedures, and communicate effectively in a variety of situations. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team members and individuals. Supplemental Minimum Qualifications Demonstrated ability to work on IT projects in an effective, innovative and timely manner. Demonstrated ability to perform website design and construction. Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer, apply word processing software. Demonstrated ability in summarizing information and preparing reports using basic computer statistical and graphical methods. Computer competence with Microsoft (MS) Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other software for document and publication preparations. Demonstrated ability to program in a scripting language compatible with REDCap (e.g. PHP, Python, Perl, etc.). Demonstrated ability to project a positive image in all interactions and reflect a commitment to building a supportive work environment and maintaining a positive attitude in the workplace. Desirable Qualifications Experience in using the REDCap database system.
