This position currently qualifies for a hybrid telework option with routine office and remote workdays*. The NC Department of Environmental Quality trusts our employees to be self-motivated and successful in hybrid/remote roles. Telework options are subject to change at the discretion of management.

This position will serve as the Policy and Planning Grant Analyst within the Policy and Planning Unit of the State Energy Office. This position involves independent execution of duties including review of grant applications and conducting grant management, interfacing with the Energy Policy Council and subcommittees, as well as the General Assembly, Governor's Office, State Emergency Management, North Carolina Utilities Commission, and partners with the Universities, Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Divisions, NCEC, ElectriCities and Investor-Owned Utilities (IOUs).
This individual will utilize technical skills and knowledge to assist in identifying federal and state grants, evaluating benefits to state energy goals and Executive Orders, and make grant recommendations to SEO management. This work includes helping develop grant Request for Proposal applications and applicable Guidance Document and Scoring Matrices and may often involve serving as lead consultant or project manager. Through this process they will conduct grant application applicant selection, interface with successful grantees, and provide grant data management, including quarterly reporting.
Position provides consultation to stakeholders internal to and external to the agency, and analysis and interpretation of data and trends. This position's work will be supervised by the Policy and Planning Supervisor.
