Job Title: Respiratory Therapist Job Specialty: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Job Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift, 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00) Guaranteed Hours: Information not provided Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a children's hospital License: California RCP License required Certifications: BLS, PALS, NRP (AHA) - Advanced level required Must-Have: RRT national credential required; RRT-NPS preferred Job Description: - Experience must come from a dedicated children's facility, not from a general or adult facility with occasional pediatric experience. - Must have a strong pediatric ICU skill set and should be able to work across at least two of the three ICUs including Level IV NICU, Level I PICU, and/or the Cardiothoracic ICU. - Candidate will handle responsibilities involving tracheostomies, ventilators, suctioning, and oxygen management. - Familiarity with trauma Level 1 experience and NICU level 4 is required. - The ability to work weekend shifts as per the contract: 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week block, typically covering two full weekends. - Candidate will float within their scope to meet facility needs and may float to sister locations for NICU if needed. - Participation in orientation is mandatory; 12 hours of orientation will be provided. - Required to work 2 out of 3 holidays within the contract duration. - Completion of non-billable modules before the start is required, which may take approximately 6-8 hours. - Flu vaccination is required, with no exemptions allowed. - High acuity level work environment with a focus on pediatric care, including acute care, pulmonary conditions, trauma management, and specialized therapies.
