A pharmaceutical company in California has a great Senior-level opportunity awaiting a new Accountant. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accountant will support various areas of general ledger accounting, including but not limited to leases, Fixed Assets, intercompany consolidations, debt, monthly close, reconciliations, analysis and reporting, process and procedure improvements.

Responsibilities:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for:Supporting the company's accounting and monthly close processPreparing monthly journal entries and reconciliations; preparing supporting schedules for financial reporting and audit purposesInterpreting contracts and identify, discuss and determine proper accounting for a variety of accounting issuesEnsuring that the integrity of accounting entries, accruals, and account reconciliations and that the close process is operating efficientlySupporting financial and SOX audits, including preparation of documentation, workpapers and reports to support audit inquiries from internal and external auditorsDisplays a continuous improvement mindset, analyzing current processes and identifying, recommending, and implementing process and procedural improvementsParticipating in various departmental projects, including system implementations, integrations, and transactional accountingMaintaining current knowledge of GAAP and other accounting and reporting requirementsSupporting compliance and improve processes and internal controlsWorking directly with external auditors to support financial statement audits and SOX control environment testingPerforming other duties, as neededQualifications:

5+ years of Corporate Accounting experience in a small / mid-sized Public Company and/or Public Accounting firmBachelor's Degree in AccountingStrong and broad knowledge of GAAPWorking knowledge of Sage Intacct, Bill.com or other mid-size to large ERPMicrosoft Excel proficientSolid analytical, mathematical, and research skillsGreat interpersonal skillsExcellent communication skills (written and verbal)Strong attention to detailHighly organizedDesired Skills:

CPA and/or parts passedExperience with Clinical-stage Biotech companies
