Job SummaryThe academic Department of Marketing within the College of Business and Economics is committed to leading business education through the guiding principles of program quality, balancing theory and practice, and expanding our outreach and visibility. We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Marketing Department Coordinator (Administrative Support Coordinator II).

The Marketing Department Coordinator provides support to the Chair, Personnel Committee, Curriculum Committee, Recruitment Committee, Scholarship Committee, and Center Directors. Provides administrative support to the department and centers as needed. Works independently to ensure the operations of the department office (Marketing and Business Communication) run smoothly. Assists the department chair with oversight of the administrative support staff. Responsible for monitoring the various department and center budgets and preparing reports as required. Assists department chair, vice chair, and search committee chair with faculty searches as needed. Coordinates the hiring of new part-time lecturers and student workers. Responsible for preparing part-time faculty appointments. Keeps track of all lecturer teaching history. Maintains the Faculty Assigned Time. Processes appointments of all student workers and new hires for the department and centers. Responsible for schedule development and updating, including preparing drafts, tracking changes, and inputting schedules. Serves as the technology coordinator and coordinates the purchase of office equipment, supplies, and furniture as needed for the department or centers. Other duties as assigned.

Essential QualificationsHigh School diploma or the equivalent and five years of progressively responsible experience in general office, clerical or secretarial work or the equivalent. Comprehensive and detailed knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures. Thorough mastery of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Expertise in using office software packages, technology, and systems. Ability to independently handle multiple work unit priorities and projects. Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures and use judgment and discretion. Ability to troubleshoot most office administration problems and respond to inquiries related to work area. Ability to analyze operational and procedural problems and develop, recommend, and evaluate proposed solutions. Ability to perform business math, analyze budgetary data, and make accurate projections. Ability to effectively write and present reports. Ability to effectively handle interpersonal interactions at all levels.
